Mirani WRF Upgrade
FLI Precast played a key role in utilising a modular semi-precast system to provide a water recycling facility in Queensland, Australia.
The was the first-ever project of its kind and illustrated how FLI Precast’s cutting-edge designs can be used across the globe.
Grassholme Reservoir
The FLI Precast Team has successfully completed a contract for the design and manufacture of a bespoke precast solution to raise the wall height on three 100-year-old stone wall spillway structures at Grassholme Reservoir. FLI Precast also undertook the design and manufacture of precast units to facilitate the reduction in height on an existing weir on the project.
This project involved many challenges including:
- The development of a precast system capable of being retrofitted to an existing stone wall
- The provision of an architectural pattern finish matching the existing wall
- The manufacture of over 500 units for the project, working to a very tight production program
Testwood Water Supply Works
Testwood Water Supply Works (WSW) is a critical surface water supply works within the Southern Water region, supplying 91 Ml/d to around 200,000 customers in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
FLI Precast assisted in the precast run-to-waste & backwash tanks design and installation.
To optimize the volume available within the given footprint on-site, a rectangular shape was preferable and was, therefore, a good candidate for modular precast concrete wall sections.
Hanchurch Service Reservoir (2018)
FLI Precast played a key role in the construction of a multi-million-pound distribution reservoir service in Stone-on-Trent.
With a large amount of the project being assembled off-site, FLI Precast was able to use their expertise from previous projects. A number of different companies worked alongside each other in collaborative planning sessions in the lead-up to the project.
Ensuring much of the project was assembled off-site also allowed a massive reduction in the length of the project.
Ludham Licence Reinvestment
FLI Precast designed and assembled two storage reservoir tanks using precast concrete panels.
FLI Precast leaned on knowledge and expertise from previous projects to design a structure that could be seamlessly integrated within the @one Alliance design.
A 3D model of the structure was designed by FLI Precast and was integrated into the main design model to ensure accuracy and efficiency. FLI Precast worked closely alongside other contractors to ensure the project was completed to standard and on time.
Skye Edge
The Sirius Group and FLI Precast had worked together in the past on a number of projects and FLI Precast was seen as the preferred provider for quality of product and security of service whilst still offering a competitive market price.
The Sirius Group are specialist engineers, consultants, and contractors providing site development services for brownfield and contaminated land.
They design, build and manage a growing portfolio of award-winning rental communities that have successfully regenerated inner urban areas through innovative remodelling.
Gowerton WwTW
The reasoning behind the works at Gowerton was a requirement to meet permit conditions in South Wales by 2020. It is a cost-effective approach to challenging flow management at Water Treatment works which enables DCWW to meet their spill permit regulations as laid down by the Welsh Government and Natural Resources Wales.
The client was working on an extremely tight programme to achieve consent dates, which meant that the FLI Precast precast construction methods delivered key advantages over the traditional build process.
Wicklow Wastewater Upgrade
FLI Precast played a key role in the upgrade of a wastewater facility in Wicklow, Ireland. The three wastewater treatment plants serve the surrounding population of 3000+ people.
FLI had to collaborate with both the client (Irish Water) and operator (Wicklow County Council) to understand the challenges and develop the agreed solution.
